It was a photo of 6 cages all stacked on one another, the water looked dirty, the rabbits were living on wire, and each one had one box to lay in. I knew that I wanted to rescue one. I didn't have the space for it to be permanent but the least I could do was take one in, get them fixed and find the best home I could possibly find. I did just that. I named her "Malia" which means beloved. She was in GI stasis when I brought her home and had to take her to the vet immediately. She got through it, and I found her a great home. I get updates once in a while from her owner and she renamed her "Marzia." She has a beautiful large room to run around in, plenty of toys, and love.
Marzia's rescue went extremely smooth, so smooth that I decided to go back and get the remaining two rabbits. These two were actually Marzia's sons. I named this brother Vinn meaning "glory." He was much more shy than Marzia, so I was worried about finding him a home that understood his needs. Nearly 4 months later I found an excellent, experienced, rabbit savvy home. He was renamed Charlie and I get frequent updates. Just recently Charlie and Niko were able to get to meet once again. Here is a photo, Charlie is on the left, Niko is on the right.
Then there's Niko, meaning "unconquered." I got Niko and Charlie at the same time and I expected Niko to be a foster. Niko was the one to have sore hocks when I rescued him due to living on wire. The sore hocks healed up and he got fixed. Well, I searched and searched for a good home. I found multiple, but for one reason or another they

The sore hocks healed up and he got fixed. Well, I searched and searched for a good home. I found multiple, but for one reason or another they all fell through. After months of looking for a home, I decided I couldn't give him up. I'm so glad I made that decision because he makes Benji happy, and he's happy because of Benji. The photo has Benji further away from the camera and Niko closer to the camera.
